"Everyone Is Looking For Jesus" - Rev. Seth D. Jones
Scripture: Isaiah 40:21-31; Mark 1:29-39
How we see others and ourselves makes all the difference in how we experience the world.
Today, we find that out by way of grasshoppers and locusts.
You need to listen in order to resolve it all!
Peace and grace to all,
Pastor Seth

"A Time for Risky Prophecy" - Rev. Seth D. Jones
Scripture: Deuteronomy 18:15-20; Mark 1:21-28
The times we live in require us to remember 'the ancient ways', as the Prophet Jeremiah said. How we speak, how we do things, really matters. Prophets have a particular and peculiar path they are called to walk, and Jesus was definitely walking in the ways of the ancient prophets. Maybe we can too.
Enjoy the entire service!

"What Gets Through The Net?" - Rev Seth D. Jones
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 7:29-31; Mark 1:24-31
God and Jesus call us to 'level up' from what we already know. Casting nets for fish is a skill, and Jesus asks Andrew and Simon to keep the skill, but use it for the Kingdom of God. The same is true for us, whatever our skill set might be.
The whole service is linked below.
Enjoy!

"Speak! I Am Listening!" - Rev. Seth D. Jones
Scripture: 1 Samuel 3; John 1:43-51
Tomorrow is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Our readings today give us some insight into the difficulties we are experiencing as a nation right now, and I place the blame in the lap of racism as a force of destruction in our country now. There may be other reasons as well, but racism is the primary heresy of the United States. The sermon is intense.
Enjoy.

January 10, 2021 - 1st Sunday after Epiphany - The Baptism of Our Lord
"Ancient Religions, New Faiths" - Rev. Seth D. Jones
Scripture: Gen 1:1-5; Acts 19:1-7; Mark 1:4-11
Baptism in the Holy Spirit is the welcoming of the personhood of God who guides us to experience directly the presence of God in the Creation. For a while, it was possible to be baptized into John's baptism - a baptism of repentance and forgiveness of sins - and not be baptized into the Holy Spirit. This is what happens with Paul and the new converts in Ephesus. But we need to understand Ephesus to understand what the Holy Spirit is up to there.
Enjoy the service!
